Birthday Wish 2025
On Saturday, February 22, 2025, Luling Volunteer Fire Department had the honor in participating in participating in fulfilling a “birthday Wish”. Amelia Hindman, a local 5 year old in a battle with cancer, requested a Firefighter Birthday Party.

Under the direction of Fire Prevention Officer, LJ Stromeyer, department volunteers and our paid staff were eager to participate in making Amelia’s wish come true. Firefighters and fire trucks descended on the birthday party brining Amelia firefighter gifts including clothing, a badge, a helmet, fire prevention items, firefighter tattoos, snap bracelets, and, of course, a stuffed dalmation. An appearance by “Sparky” was a special treat for Amelia and her guests.

Fire Chief Barry Minnich swore in Amelia as an honorary member of the Luling Volunteer Fire Department and included the presentation of a certificate, badge, and Luling VFD shirt, and helmet.

We appreciate the opportunity to make a special day for Amelia and her family. We will continue to offer prayers for her complete healing.
