Monday’s joint training with Luling VFD and Hahnville VFD was Firefighter Strategies, conducted by Fire Prevention Co-Ordinator LJ Stromeyer. The topics discussed included, but were not limited to: hard and soft environments, strategic mode decisions, basic firefighter strategies, the importance of pre-plans, accountability, fire ground safety including the proper use of PPE, command post positioning, scene size up, rehab, strategy modifications, and communications.
